Oakdale Electric Cooperative is a member of DIGGERS HOTLINE, a one-call answering service for Wisconsin utilities. Please call three days before beginning any digging or excavation work. Call 1-800-242-8511 (in Wisconsin). If you are calling from out of state, the number is 1-800-922-6576. The advance call to DIGGERS HOTLINE will allow the utility time to locate and flag underground facilities. You are required by Wisconsin law to allow three working days before you dig. RELS, LLC has been contracted by Oakdale Electric Cooperative to perform cable locates. There are no charges to individual members for these services. Normally, underground facilities that are member-owned will not be located through the Diggers Hotline system. These facilities can be located by electric cooperative personnel for a nominal fee. Call the cooperative's Line Department or Engineering Department to make arrangements for locating privately owned facilities. Avoid Frost Charges for Underground Installations Plan ahead to avoid additional construction costs. Normally, requests for the installation of underground electric cable will be scheduled only after the frost is out in the spring through October. If the cooperative is requested to install underground electrical service after November 1 and before normal spring construction, an advanced "frost charge" may be applied. The charge will be $3.00 per foot, with a minimum charge of $150. The charge covers the use of frost trenching equipment or the installation of temporary overhead line until spring.
If a frost charge is collected and not used because of extended favorable soil conditions, the advance payment will be refunded.
