At 3:26 PM, there was an an insulator failure on a switch pole outside the Armenia Substation. This caused the pole to catch on fire. This event caused the high side fuse at the substation to open, which resulted in the entire substation being out of power. Repairs at the substation were completed and the majority of the members were back in service at 6:45 PM. The burned pole and associated equipment were changed out with the remaining members all back at 11:45 PM.
11/21/17 Cooperative Member Targeted in Phone Scam
Oakdale Electric Cooperative (OEC) is warning members of a phone scam that recently targeted a cooperative member. The phone scammer impersonated a co-op employee, and demanded immediate payment over the phone, via a debit or credit card, and threatened disconnection.
OEC advises members that such calls are not legitimate and any member receiving such a call should not to provide any financial or personal information to the callers.
